She's a Soldier and a Mom

My studio manager, Sally Hayes, has a daughter who is serving in Afghanistan. Since I opened for studio business, I have offered a free session to any deploying military member. It's my way of giving back, to those who are sacrificing so much.

Sally's daughter, Sally Ann, came home on her two-week R&R, so I snatched her up for some family photos. I have to say that this has been one of the most fun military sessions I've done! They are a good looking family with great energy. What do you think?

I think this is the perfect example of a female soldier, who is a mother too. This picture is my favorite.

This is just one light shooting on the back wall. A fun silhouette.

I like this picture because, to me, it shows the fine line between masculine and feminine which women in the military often walk. Even though she isn't wearing makeup and is in a uniform fitted for a man, she's still a knock-out.

Sally Ann looks completely different here. She is in full mom-swing. It's crazy how one piece of clothing can change a persons persona.

Thank you Sally Ann for your service to our country. Please let your fellow soldiers know that they are in my prayers.
