I decided it was necessary to post some words on my Oprah Winfrey Show experience. A couple of weeks ago, I was contacted by Harpo Productions and was asked to appear on the Oprah Winfrey Show. I can't talk too much about the "topic" because I signed a non-disclosure agreement. Basically, you can expect me to talk about being a woman in the military. What's the most exciting for me, is that my pictures were larger then life in her studio. Not just pictures I took, but pictures of me!!! It's crazy. I am not sure of the air date just yet. However, they have said it will air at the end of February. I have been watching Oprah's site for the schedule (http://www.oprah.com/index). If you are interested in checking the show out, you can monitor the schedule too.
After I was contacted, I gathered a bunch of pictures for them. I expected it would take a few months for them to coordinate the show. To my surprise, it only took one week! I flew to Chicago on a Tuesday evening and shot the show the very next day. After I did the interview, I flew home. It was great. Oprah is incredibly sweet and more so then I have imagined.
Andy got to go with me and he was really supportive. We both sat in the front row for most of the show. But, I did sit on the stage during my interview. It was surreal......and freezing!!! My teeth were chattering the whole time. It looks so warm and inviting on the t.v., but it's like an ice chest. I got my picture taken with THEE OPRAH WINFREY and I hope to get the print in the mail soon. I will share that too, once I get it that is!!!!
